We have two virtual ADOS-2 clinical training sessions coming up on May 11-12 and May 26-27. These trainings will be led by WPS-certified trainer Dr. Rachel Hundley of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

We’re also pleased to announce that we have customized a new enhanced third day of training on Friday, May 13th, designed for those who work with young adults/adults with Level 1 autism. Dr. Hundley will be accompanied by Dr. Frances Niarhos from Vanderbilt University’s Counseling Center. Learn about the different types of interviews given to adults, more autism measures and other assessments (e.g., mental health), differential diagnoses, barriers and pathways experienced in higher education and beyond, and more.

Participants at an in-person ADOS-2 training we held in 2019.

About the ADOS-2 Full Clinical Training

With the ADOS-2, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition, clinicians learn how to assess for autism spectrum disorders in individuals with varying ages and skills (Modules 1-4 and the Toddler Module).

  • For clinicians with a prior background in autism and formal testing, this 2-day workshop is sufficient to support use of the ADOS-2 to inform the diagnosis of autism and autism spectrum disorders. Physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists will be better prepared to make educational placement decisions and evaluate programs after completing the workshop.
  • Individuals with less background in testing but who provide service for individuals and families affected by autism may take the workshop for informational purposes.
  • For researchers, thisworkshop is a prerequisite to more thorough training offered by the ADOS-2 authors and designed to achieve the high cross-site inter-rater reliability required in published research.
  • Learning outcomes: After completing this course, attendees will be able to:
    • Administer the ADOS-2 as recommended by test developers
    • Satisfy requirements for ADOS-2 Research pre-qualification.
